New York’s longest running solo performers
theater festival, minority writers encouraged to apply
Caicedo Productions Corp officially announced requests for
submissions for their annual “The ONE Festival,” now in its 11th year. The
festival is a showcase of theatrical works by solo artists. Submissions are
currently being accepted until February 6, 2016. The festival seeks and
presents the best New York, National and international talent both writers and
performers of Solo works. The participants perform a minimum of two times
during the course of six days every evening. A block of no less than two
performances showcases their work with the audience voting for their favorite
piece at the conclusion of the evening. At the conclusion of the seven days of
presentations the piece that has garnered the most votes is declared “THE ONE
Festival” winner and is awarded a cash prize of up to $1,500 dollars as well as
a full theatrical workshop production of their piece in the historic east 4th
theater district in New York City.
“The ONE Festival” was designed as a place for new and emerging
playwrights and performers to showcase their stories, and encourage
intercultural understanding, in the most diverse, dynamic and multi-ethnic city
in the world. “The ONE Festival” is open to ALL emerging writers/performers,
regardless of their ethnic backgrounds.
The Festival’s beauty is demonstrating the creative talent from all walks of life, added Veronica Caicedo, the festival’s CEO/Founder and an accomplished independent filmmaker and director/producer in theater.
