R.Evolucion Latina's 5th Annual "Dare to go Beyond" Children's Performing Arts Camp Kicks Off Monday, July 16th

 


The Fifth Annual Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp, hosted by R.Evolución Latina, will kick off Monday, July 16th, with a five-day curriculum taught by nearly three dozen Broadway and international artists.   


Cast members from Fela, The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Bring It On, Book of Mormon, and Ghost, among other current and recent Broadway productions, and the Broadway-inspired television series Smash, will volunteer their time for the educational program that serves nearly 200 children ages 7 to 17. Classes include voice, acting, theater dance, body percussion, puppetry, mime, Mexican Folklore, Flamenco, and music, among others subjects.

WHEN:  Monday, July 16th, 10:00 AM

WHAT: Nearly two hundred students from schools and community organizations citywide, will join volunteer teaching Broadway artists to kick off the 5th Annual "Dare to Go Beyond" Children's Performing Arts Camp, hosted by R.Evolucion Latina. 

WHERE:  Pearl Studios, 500 Eight Avenue, between West 35th and 36th Streets.

NOTES:  Interviews with Luis Salgado, students, parents, and Broadway Teaching Artists will be available.  

The Camp will meet all-day at Pearl Studios. A presentation of the students' progress will be held during the Camp's final day, Friday, July 20th, highlighting the theme of this year's Camp, "Imagination".
