In this acclaimed, early
play by renowned writer Octavio Solis (Se Llama Cristina at INTAR;
Pulitzer Prize nominated Lydia at Mark Taper Forum)Scout, a computer programmer
with promise of upward mobility, attracts the interest of Liza and Vince,
foolhardy opportunists in a complicated relationship. Vince drags the trio home
where his wife Elena remains homebound smoking pot, watching porn, and craving
snow peas. A drink and drug fueled night between unlikely friends scrapes down
desires, secrets, and identities to the bone.
Prospect received
its West Coast Premiere at El Teatro Campesino in 1993. It has
received subsequent productions at the Latino Chicago Theatre Company, The Magic
Theatre in San Francisco, and the North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana
Beach, CA. This will be the play's first time on the East Coast.
