  • Explora el arte del performance a través de la creatividad en movimiento y la escritura.
  • Desarrolla tu pieza de performance corta.Complimentary study material will be provided/ Se proveerá material de estudio complementario.
  • Bilingüe inglés y español.
The purpose of this workshop is to offer the student/artist a total immersion opportunity to explore the self in order to create art based on autobiographical material. It is an experiment in search of a voice—a unique voice!—through body, mind, and spirit.
During the four weeks of the workshop, we will delve into the necessary tools to experiment the process through discussions, improvisational movement and vocal expression, and writing. The materials gathered during the sessions will be reviewed and developed privately during the week.

Students will be expected to keep a journal to register dreams, and to do short writing exercises everyday. They will have a reading list and art exhibits to visit and/or movies to watch.

We will start the workshop with a discussion of the following:
• Who are you?
• What is autobiography?
• How do we transform autobiography into art?
• What is true and what is not?
• Where is the balance between fiction and “real life”?
• Where does the need to express your personal life comes from?
• What is behind “show don’t tell”.

The student/artist will show the development of his/her own materials every week as part of the whole group discussion. The workshop will culminate with a collective show on the last day of the workshop.
